Who are we

The Leicester Social Economy Consortium Limited (LSEC) is a Social Enterprise. It is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee. Established in 1997 it is now one of the largest and most successful Social Enterprises based in Leicester. It has property assets worth over £2million and income in excess of £200,000 per year

The purpose of the Leicester Social Economy Consortium is to identify, acquire, and develop under-used, vacant, or derelict land or buildings with a view to creating employment, an improved environment, and assets owned by the community. Since 2001 the sole member of LSEC has been the Shelter Housing Aid and Research Project (Leicester) registered charity No 1000515 known as SHARP. Over the last 20 years LSEC has donated in excess of £400,000 to SHARP from its profits of over £1 million pounds.

Who we support

LSEC owns approximately 35,000 square feet of managed workspace and serviced offices. These premises are located at the Phoenix Yard on Upper Brown Street in Leicester City Centre and at the Phoenix Studios at 251/253/255 Belgrave Gate, Leicester. Our tenants include a restaurant, 3 firms of accountants, an IT company, 3 providers of education and training, an offshoot of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, 2 churches, a research institute, at least 3 charities, various SMEs, and one basketball club.
